Thank you for your teachings,

for the visible and the invisible.

May I never forget

what through you I have felt again,

seen and learned,

and that something more that I cannot name,

but that in silence transforms me.

Thank you for the beautiful words Alomn! The fact that you can feel something you cannot name is proof you're already exploring the unconscious and integration of the self!

Grateful to walk this together!

Have you seen this paper? What's it like to be a bat. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_Is_It_Like_to_Be_a_Bat%3F

Hey Miranda! Thank you for bringing this to my attention. It definitely falls right in the territory this piece is exploring.

Nagel's argument is that we can never access the subjective experience of another kind of being because consciousness has an irreducibly first-person character. What I find interesting is that through dissolution of the ego, through dreams and meditation, the experience changes radically. I don't believe I can easily feel how a bat feels, but I wonder if the gap between two very different beings can narrow when the ego isn't running the show. Some traditions use dream practice specifically to access connections with animals. There's something worth exploring there, especially with more research behind it.

If you have any thoughts on this, I'd love to hear them! Thank you again for sharing it!
